Fans couldn’t ask for a better final than today’s Sony Ericsson Open offering of Venus Williams going off against Kim Clijsters. Both are former Miami champions, both are former world No. 1s, and both are showing fine form this season.
Czech Tomas Berdych continued his giant-killing run at the Sony Ericsson Open Friday night, powering his way into the final with a 6-2, 6-2 win over fifth seed Robin Soderling. Berdych, who took out top seed Roger Federer after saving a match point in the fourth round and 10th seed Fernando Verdasco in the quarter-finals, will face sixth seed Andy Roddick in the final.
